I forgive
myself
for
being
me
and
not
the other

Rain whispers quietly
against the glass
as I sit her looking
as the once forbidden lands
My mind’s eye
now aware of the vision
of the Other
has opened the windows
and brushes past my cheek
My future is now
living on the
other side of a parted
barrier
where rain now falls
more loudly

Birds
fly
in
scattered unison
while
the window
seperates
the
inside
from
the green
hills
beyond
as
I sit
yearning
for
change

As
we divide
ourselves
in two
and in
two again
unity
fails
And
the
selfless
become
selfish
ever
dividing
unitl
chaos
seperates
infinately

The
impoverished
veiled
woman
sits
on the side
of the road
in the
rubble
of
older buildings
forgotten
and
overshadowed
by
sparkling
structures
and
the
glittering
things
of
others

Tension
mounts
as
the
moment
refuses
to be
captured
and
then
subsides
as
the
moment
is
experienced
and
remembered

Until
I realize
my
burdens
are with
the Other
my
struggles
will continue
needlessly
until
I comprehend
being is
leaving
myself
behind
I
will
be lost

Life’s
challenges
add
to the
weight
of
a
never
sleeping mind
and
freedom
is
sought
in
the
seemingly
thoughtless
and
familiar
habits
that
confine
the
soul
endlessly

I never
write
in pencil
and
cling
to
my pen
desperate
to
capture
the moment
just
the way
I saw
it
then

Nothing to write and food everywhere. You sit
comfortably among the masses and yet quietly alone.
The buzz of generations passing around you,
conversations betwixt and between.
In the allys the others hurredly move from empty
generation to empty generation, erasing the moments,
hoping to some day also sit comfortably and share
their generation’s stories.
